6 Things You Can Do RIGHT NOW To Make More Money Next Month

As an entrepreneur I am constantly thinking of ways to grow my business. My desire to work for myself full time has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I love having the freedom to work from home or from anywhere I choose. I love having the ability to set my own hours, and to take a vacation when I choose to, for as long as I choose to without worrying about using up all of my PTO time. Yet with all of this freedom there is also the responsibility I have to make a living for myself and to secure my financial future. So each month I look ahead to the next month, and I begin to think of products and services I can create that will help people reach their goals and live happier, more successful lives.

In today’s blog post I wanted to share some tips that have worked for me in building my business.  I am happy to say that each month my business has made more money than the previous month, and for that I am extremely grateful. What I do, and what other business owners do are not secrets. We don’t have some magic formula for success. We simply take consistent actions to grow our business each and everyday. We maintain focus, and we are intentional about staying productive.

So here are a few things that you can do to grow your business and make more money next month.

1. Create something of value.

You already have your own unique set of skills, talents, and abilities. Instead of looking externally for ways to make more money, start to look within. What can you make? What can you develop?  What can you teach or share? What can you begin? Create something, and then let what you have created go to work for you.

2. Market like crazy! 

That’s right. Don’t be afraid to put yourself, your products and services out there. You may have the ability to create something wonderful, but if no one knows about it then you won’t make any money.  Marketing is all about creating an awareness of the value of what you have to offer. The great thing about marketing these days is that there is so much that you can do for free. You can create videos, you can reach people through social media and word of mouth, you can attend networking functions you could write a blog or a  free press release to let people know about your business. Developing an aggressive marketing strategy keeps you and what you do in the forefront of people’s minds. Sure they may not buy from you the very first time but the more you promote the better your chances are at connecting with that person, or those people, who are looking for exactly what you have to offer. Those are the customers you want to serve anyway, because they are the people who will buy from you.

3. Create an offer that can’t be refused. 

Develop an idea for a product or service that is both affordable and attractive to potential customers. Everyone can appreciate a great deal, and when you are great at creating a win/win scenario then your customer benefits from what you’ve provided, and you get paid.

4. Decide how much money you want to make next month, then break your goal down into weekly action plans, designed to help you reach your goal. 

For example, if you say you want to make an extra $1000 next month, then you might want to think about how many clients or customers you will need to serve each week. Also, take a look at your price structure. If your are selling a service that costs $100 for example, then you will need to serve 10 clients a week in order to reach your $1000 monthly goal. Now you have an idea of how and where to market what you do in order to accomplish this task.

5. Focus more on money making activities, and less on those activities that don’t have the potential to generate income.

What time wasters can you eliminate? How much television can you cut out to focus more time on developing a business idea?

6. Pray.

You can apply all of the principles above, but without the grace and favor of God, none of it will really matter that much. I attribute any degree of success I’ve had in business to the fact that God was looking out for me. My marketing efforts have been my attempts at knocking on doors, but HE is the one who actually causes those doors to swing open. The lesson here is yes, apply the principles, but don’t under estimate the power of good old fashioned prayer.
